The Windsor Trooper is quickly becoming a large operation to manage. The Pub can comfortably sit 200 patrons inside and out, we have 2 bars, 9 Hotel Rooms, host 100’s of private events throughout the year as well as regular Live Music and monthly Quiz Nights.

The Windsor Trooper is one of Windsor’s most respected and well-loved pubs. Since new ownership in 2019, the venue has undergone significant renovation including the pub, function room, beer garden and hotel accommodation.

Today, the Windsor Trooper is a thriving hospitality venue with a strong local following and a reputation for quality. We are proud to have appeared in the Good Beer Guide for five consecutive years, and to have won SWM CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year in 2022, 2023, 20242025 and 2026 alongside Winning SWM CAMRA Pub of the Year in 2025 the first pub to achieve double awards n the same year.

In addition to our busy pub and events space, we operate 9 ensuite guest rooms, welcoming visitors to Windsor throughout the year.

We are now looking for a hands-on, motivated Assistant Manager who is passionate about hospitality and ready to play a key leadership role in a busy, award-winning pub.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality supervisor or assistant manager who enjoys working in a busy, customer-focused environment and wants to be part of a close-knit, ambitious team.

You will work closely with the management team to ensure smooth daily operations across the pub, events space and accommodation, while helping to drive standards, team performance and guest experience.

When the Manager is absent, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the venue.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading from the front to deliver exceptional customer service

• Supporting the recruitment, training and development of the team

• Assisting in driving sales growth and profitability

• Supporting the marketing and development of the pub’s social media presence

• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety and presentation

• Handling event bookings, group enquiries and festivals

• Managing hotel guest enquiries and online bookings

• Creating weekly staff rotas and monitoring labour costs

• Managing stock control, placing orders and dealing with wholesalers

• Supporting cellar management and bar operations

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous supervisory experience within a bar, pub or restaurant

• Is confident leading a team in a busy environment

• Has strong communication and organisational skills

• Is passionate about great service and hospitality

• Has bar and cellar management experience

• Is comfortable using computers including Word and Excel

• Is flexible to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience using hotel booking systems or channel managers

• Event planning or coordination experience

• Website or social media management

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate

Personal Licence

Housekeeper – The Windsor Trooper

The Windsor Trooper is a busy and welcoming pub with 9 popular hotel rooms that remain consistently occupied throughout the year. We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Housekeeper to join our team.

About the Role

As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring our guest rooms and occasionally parts of the pub are cleaned and prepared to a high standard. Guests check in from 3:00pm and check out at 11:00am, so most cleaning duties take place during this period to ensure rooms are ready for incoming guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and preparing hotel rooms to a high standard

  • Changing bed linen and handling laundry

  • Ensuring bathrooms and guest areas are spotless and well presented

  • Occasionally assisting with cleaning areas of the pub before moving on to the hotel rooms

Important Information

This role can be physically demanding. It involves carrying laundry bags and moving between floors, as there are no lifts to the second floor.

Working Hours

The hours are ideal for anyone looking for daytime work that fits around school hours or other commitments.
